Accessibility Statement

CollegeProphet is built for every student, including students who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification, or other assistive technology. This page describes where we are, where we fall short, and how to tell us when something doesn't work for you.

Our target

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. This site is currently partially conformant: most content meets the standard, but some interactive elements do not yet fully conform.

What we've done

  • Semantic HTML landmarks (header, main, footer, nav) and a logical heading structure on every page.
  • A "skip to main content" link for keyboard and screen-reader users.
  • Labeled form fields with clear, text-based error messages announced via status regions.
  • All functionality of the waitlist forms, navigation, and blog is operable by keyboard.
  • Animations and smooth scrolling are disabled for visitors whose system requests reduced motion.
  • Text can be resized up to 200% and pages reflow on small screens without loss of content.

Known limitations

  • The interactive product previews (the playable dashboard, campus map, and "vibe check" demos) are decorative mockups and are not yet fully usable with a screen reader. All information they convey is also available in the surrounding text.
  • Some decorative animations and the animated statistics may be distracting; enabling your system's reduced-motion setting minimizes them.
  • We have not yet completed a third-party accessibility audit; we plan to do one before the full product launches.
